When people think of knitting, they might be drawn to the design and the creative aspects of it, but what they may not know about is the health benefits that knitting can also provide.

Concentrating on this timeless craft can help you in so many ways after a long day of work or when you need to wind down and relax. Let's take a deeper look at why knitting is so enjoyable and how it can help you live a healthy lifestyle.

Concentrate on Knitting, Worry Less About Meaningless Stress

With technology surrounding us, it can get hard to not be involved in something all the time. It's too easy to not drop everything when someone calls you or texts your phone, and it leads to stress over time whether you know it or not. Which is why we always try to set aside our phone for at least an hour or two per day and knit. Leaving this technology behind, taking deep breaths, and worrying only about the knitting project you are working on has proven to lower blood pressure and lower your heart rate!

Be Mindful, Be Present

Now that you can take your mind off of other unnecessary stressors, you are able to be more mindful. This brings all of your energy and focus to one point which helps to calm your mind and once you get into a rhythm, the repetitive motion will induce a relaxing state.

Stay Focused and Keep Your Mind on What Matters

At Third Piece, we always aim to stay focused on our projects and not on the external obstructions that we can't change. With knitting, you are in control. You have the ability to create anything you put your mind to.

We hope that once you learn to knit you stay focused and you always remember why you started in the first place!
